Preparation for Negotiated Study Feedback

Nigel identified that my most successful work is the lace trim because it has broken edges, like my drawings, is constructed and double sided. I'm a fabric maker rather than an embellisher,
which made sense as I'd been aware of struggling with how to place the flower motifs onto fabric.
  • Draw more and translate these images into stitch.
  • Research lace making to develop a range of bespoke trimmings and edges for my major project.
  • Look at drape and pattern potential and joining mechanisms.

Satin Stitch on Multi Head

Stitched out a simple design then hand stitched over it before cutting the stitches.
I like the way the light catches the slightly puckered velvet. Is it possible to multi head more layers?

Photos of glow in the dark samples

I was pleased with these glow in the dark images, which are far more successful than the actual objects. The red colour that emerged was intriguing and naturally reminded me of blood.

Linen Pockets

Linen pockets, one with neon sequins and the
other based on a vanishing pocket pattern from the book Pattern Magic.
